The United States stretches from the Pacific on the west to the Atlantic on the east. It is situated entirely in the western hemisphere and is bordered by Canada to the north and Mexico to the south. The interior of the country is a sprawling lowland which stretches from the Gulf of Mexico to Canada and then to Alaska.
